What is a memory item?
A memory item can be a teddy bear, patchwork blanket or cushion. It is made from clothing or a piece of fabric like a blanket that has meaning to you.
What fabrics do you use to back the memory blankets?
We can use fleece or cotton in a range of colours depending on the main colours on the top piece. This is confirmed after receiving the clothing to be used.
What is batting/wadding?
Batting/wadding adds an extra layer of warmth inbetween the top and back piece of the blankets. It isn’t always necessary but an option if you like.
Are memory bears CE checked/ suitable for playing with?
Memory bears are intended to be keepsakes and not to be played with. As memory bears are made with a range of external material supplied by yourself, they cannot be individually CE checked. By purchasing, you are confirming you understand this.
Due to the nature of this product being bespoke, returns are not accepted. The final result of the bear may differ from the examples shown depending on the types of fabrics provided.
How many items should I send for a memory bear?
- 1 or 2 adult items
- 5 babygrows/outfits
- 3 items of kids clothing
You can provide more if you wish for a mix of different items of clothing to be used. Please bear in mind the quality of the clothing will impact the final result.
How many items should I send for a blanket?
Pram 80cm x 80cm
- Min. 10 babygrows or outfits
- or 5 items of adult clothing
Small Throw 100cm x 130cm
- Min. 15 baby grows or outfits
- 6 adult items of clothing
Large Throw 120cm x 150cm
- Min. 25 babygrows or outfits
- or 8 adult items of clothing
Single Bed 120cm x 170cm
- Min. 30 babygrows or outfits
- or 10 adult items of clothing
Double Bed 170cm x 170cm
- Min. 45 babygrows or outfits
- or 15 adult items of clothing
King Bed 210cm x 180cm
- Min. 60 babygrows or outfits
- or 20 adult items of clothing
How many items are needed for a memory cushion?
Usually 1- 2 adult items are sufficient for right up to the largest cushion size. If you have a mix of clothing you would like included in a cushion or more than one cushion this is ok too.
How do I get the clothing to The Gathered Seam for my memory item?
Once you have placed your order you will receive an email within 48 hours with an address where you can either send by post or drop off the items of clothing. Please note you are responsible for the cost of posting or dropping off the clothing.
Can I get a custom size blanket or different style of memory bear?
